This win has seen them go up to third place, and only one point behind the leaders Barcelona and second placed Levante. Espanyol had a pretty good game though and the result doesn't really reflect on how they played but Real Madrid were able to finally get back to their lethal scoring and let's just hope that this run could go on longer!
Higuain was given the chance to start the game after a late fitness test officially ruled Karim Benzema out of this game due to a groin injury. Also, Mourinho decided to change the back-four a little bit with Alvaro Arbeloa on the right, Sergio Ramos and Raul Albiol in the center, and Marcelo on the left. This seemed to work very well throughout the game!
This does bring up one question though: Should Benzema keep starting or should Higuain take his place?
Well, it's actually a very simple answer in my opinion. Mix it up. We are lucky enough to have two great attackers who are competing for a starting place so both of them should get their chances to play. This really helps in a situation like against Espanyol where Benzema is injured. Higuain took his starting chance very well and was able to score three great goals! Also, keep in mind as a back-up option, we have Jose Callejon who is still young but is showing a lot of promise. And now his first goal for Real Madrid will boost up his ego quite a bit!
Since the players are now going off to the international break, it was a good way to end this week since we are now not too far off the top. Our next game will be a little tricky against Real Betis but hopefully it'll go well.

Yes, it may be wrong to put Mesut Ozil as the worst player of the night but he didnt play like he usually does and made a few mistakes but everyone, including Ozil, had a good game overall

I agree with your choice of Özil as the worst player. I really like him a lot, but he's a bit out of form lately I think. I still think it's temporary though.
I think it's nice that we don't have to worry about our major players being injured because their subs are equally good and deliver perfectly. Higuaín and Benzema of course, but also in the defense, just to name a few.

Yeah I feel that Ozil is one of our best players but he just simply had a bad game yesterday (compared to his usual).
Our substitutes are great and they've been able to prove that time and time again. It's great to see that they're able to step up when needed :)
