Real Madrid 3-1 Real Zaragoza

After all of the Clasico hype, Real Madrid hosted Zaragoza to try keeping their advantage at the top of the league.

On paper, this would probably be one of the easiest games that Real Madrid would play this season since Zaragoza were having many problems of their own while they sit at the bottom of the table with only 12 points, scoring only two goals in the past eight games, and only winning two games throughout this whole season.

And, as most expected, this game started off with Real Madrid applying all the pressure while Cristiano Ronaldo missed a free-kick and Karim Benzema missed a header that, on any other day, he would have easily scored. And, after 11 minutes, it happened: Lafita makes it 1-0 to Zaragoza after some awful defending and an easy tap-in. As concern grew at the Bernabeu, the Whites kept on fighting. 32 minutes into the game, the man who many have pretty much given up on, scored the equalizer to continue a great performance: Kaka. A very great play by the team topped up with a great finish by the Brazilian.

As the teams went into the rooms 1-1 at half time, Real Madrid knew they had to come out and keep fighting, and that's exactly what they did as Cristiano Ronaldo was able to find the back of the net four minutes into the second half. Being 2-1 up, Madrid had to stay strong at the back to avoid any surprise goals from the visitors. On the 56th minute, Mesut Ozil relaxed the whole Bernabeu with a great finish ending the game 3-1 to Real Madrid and guaranteeing them to stay 5 points ahead of Barcelona.
