Real Madrid 3-1 Sporting Gijon

The game where Real Madrid equalled their record of 107 goals in a single season, best part is they have a few more games to go...

Sporting Gijon surprised many with their starting tactics as they were playing with practically six defenders! As for Jose Mourinho, he has also made a couple changes for himself as he started with: Iker Casillas, Alvaro Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Sami Khedira, Nuri Sahin, Mesut Ozil, Jose Callejon, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Gonzalo Higuain.

Sporting were very solid in defense breaking any of Real Madrid's attacks and also depending on the counter for them to score a goal. And it kind of worked as Sergio Ramos gave them a penalty after 30 minutes which was converted by Miguel De Las Cuevas. Real Madrid pressured even harder and 7 minutes later, it was Gonzalo Higuain who put the Whites back in the game and made it 1-1.

The second half was very different as Real Madrid found the needed spaces to get some great opportunities. It took some time though, and it was Cristiano Ronaldo who was able to score his 41st goal of the season, making it 2-1 to Real Madrid. It didn't stop there though as Karim Benzema put the fans at rest after being able to make it 3-1 on the 82nd minute.

Great to see Real Madrid back on track as three big games are now coming up. Two games against Bayern Munich for the Champions League semi-finals, and a "decider" game against Barcelona in between. They need to stay sharp and play the best football that they can possibly imagine...

Best Real Madrid Player: Cristiano Ronaldo
Worst Real Madrid Player: Alvaro Arbeloa
