Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid have won the Madrid Derby yet again after four great goals against their city rivals!

Though the scoreline suggests otherwise, the game didn't have the best of starts for the men in White as Atletico began the game pressuring their opponents and making things very difficult. Their pressure wasn't wasted as they were able to score in the 15th minute after a great play and a nice finish by Adrian. This only lasted 9 minutes as Karim Benzema was tackled in the box to get a penalty, which was scored by Cristiano Ronaldo and ended in Atletico's goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, receiving a straight red card.

The first half ended 1-1 and both teams were pressuring quite well. But the second half is what showed the difference between the two Madrid sides as Angel Di Maria scored after a great assist from Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 2-1. Gonzalo Higuain was then brought in to replace Di Maria on the 60 minute mark and made it 3-1 after 65 minutes by taking advantage of a big defensive mistake.

As if the 3-1 score wasn't comfortable enough, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to score yet another penalty after Diego Godin got a straight red card for a tackle on Gonzalo Higuain.

The score was great. Overall, the play was great and Real Madrid have shown that they are a team that keeps on fighting. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, came onto the pitch showing great pressure but after Real Madrid were able to get back into the game, Atletico's tactics were actually quite obvious: "Stop the opponents in whatever way possible". We saw harsh tackles to everyone, mostly Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, and Gonzalo Higuain.

The 4-1 win was spectacular but, as if THAT wasn't really enough, Barcelona VS Getafe has given us a nice surprise as Getafe were able to beat the visitors 1-0 in a very tight game where, to be honest, Barcelona would have won on any other day.

6 points ahead, 1 game left before the Clasico (Against Sporting Gijon), things are looking great so far but I'm just hoping we don't get too cocky now. Also, because of the Club World Championship, Barcelona will have to play two games before the Clasico against Rayo Vallecano and Levante, which means that when the Clasico comes on December 10, they would have played one more game than us. Let's take advantage of that!!!

Best Real Madrid Player: Cristiano Ronaldo
Worst Real Madrid Player: Angel Di Maria

Just when I thought this guy has finally stopped with his dramatic scenes on the pitch, he is back once again with his useless acting and diving. Di Maria is an amazing player, no doubt about that, but seriously? It's ruining our reputation and he's very lucky to not get booked at any point. He needs to just play the game and do what he does best.

LA LIGA TOP 5:

1. Real Madrid: 34 points
2. Barcelona: 28 points
3. Valencia: 27 points
4. Levante: 26 points
5. Sevilla: 20 points
