Jose Mourinho decided not to take any chances at all and has fielded a strong starting 11: Iker Casillas, Alvaro Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Mesut Ozil, Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid seemed like the better team from the beginning as they kept attacking with everything they got. Cristiano Ronaldo was finally able to open the scoring after 19 minutes to make it 1-0 and officially be the only player to score against every single La Liga team. Only four minutes later, Karim Benzema was able to make it 2-0 with a great finish after a Gonzalo Higuain assist.
As the second half began, Mesut Ozil was able to score on the 49th minute after yet another assist from Higuain. Mallorca pulled one back on the 52nd minute to make it 3-1 but that did not stop Real Madrid as Ozil scored yet another great finish on the 58th minute. From then on, the game got a bit slower with both teams having their fair share of chances.
